The Story of Vickie K.

In November of 2021, Vickie K lost her home in Prosper, Texas. Our organization- Nationwide Fund Recovery (NWFR) contacted Vickie to inform her that there were excess funds owed to her from the foreclosure sale of her home. Vickie initially hired an attorney to help recover the funds, but four months passed and Vickie had no update on the case from the attorney. She then decided to use our service as she had felt the care and professionalism over the conversations with our NWFR team. NWFR worked the file together with our 3rd party local attorney in this specific field and was able to recover over $150,000 of equity from the sale of her home in less than 3 months.

During the process of helping Vickie, she shared with us all that had happened prior to the foreclosure, and she has gladly agreed for us to share her story. In the beginning of 2021, her and her husband both lost their fathers to COVID. While grieving their unexpected losses, Vickie decided to quit her job so that she could stay home to care for her three children under the age of 12, the youngest with special needs. A few months later her husband unexpectedly lost his job. They were caught in a whirlwind of life changes that felt bigger than what they knew what to do. After the sheriff changed the locks on their home, they left what was a 5-bedroom, 3500 sq ft home and moved into a 1-bedroom apartment in Dallas which was all they could afford at the time. They were now out of the school district that their kids were thriving at and afraid for their and their children’s future. Vickie shared with us that before we contacted her she had gone to church and got down on her knees and prayed to the Lord that He would provide and help them in this extremely difficult period.

After the funds were successfully disbursed, our founder Thomas Hilgardner flew to Texas to personally meet and thank Vickie for her trust in our team and letting us do what we do best. Today, Vickie and her family have moved back to Prosper where her kids were able to get back into the same schools they had been going to since kindergarten, and are thankful for our service that provides them a fresh new start to their life.
